WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

“Many of you know how passionate I am about boosting the music scene here—not just jazz, but music education as a whole. I’m always working to increase participation and performance, especially in teaching. Yes, I get it—Stowe is more about soccer, skiing, hockey, and lacrosse. But nothing brings people together like music. For kids, this connection is something they’ll carry long after their days on the field or slopes. The arts develop a different side of the brain, offering balance, communication, socialization, and yes, even fun. I stopped by Peak Music recently and spent time with Pete and Brandon—two guys who truly get it. The school and studio facilities are fantastic. Both of them are highly skilled professionals from NYC, and they’re driven to spread music through teaching, songwriting workshops, and ensembles where kids can perform live. They’re even helping people understand and use technology to record music. Dozens of kids are already signed up for lessons on various instruments, which is amazing. I also know many of their teachers, and every single one of them is solid and professional. So, do some research, check out the links below, and get your kids involved. They’ll learn, have fun, and grow in ways you might not expect.”

"When Peak Music came to town last summer, I enrolled my daughter in weekly classes to help her stay engaged and socialize. What I didn't expect was how much she would love it and how inspired she'd be to continue learning music. She's always excited before and after class! She started with the Foundations of Music and then took the Ukulele Explorers class. Now, she's set on mastering the ukulele before moving to guitar. The instructors are fantastic — they’ve built her confidence and made learning fun. We're so grateful for the positive impact Peak Music has had on her musical journey!"

“As a long-time self-taught "couch" guitarist I desired professional instruction to tighten up my technical playing, timing, understanding of the fretboard, and performance comfort while keeping the learning journey fun. The PEAK team exceeded my expectations in helping to design learning sessions customized to my specific goals and abilities and in offering tremendous flexibility in changing things up based upon my desired focus week-to-week. Whereas one week we may focus on learning music theory, modes, and scales, in another we might do a facilitated recording session to work on recording skills, proper technical use of various equipment, or share and receive valuable pro-feedback on my own songwriting and compositions. I'm also tremendously grateful and privileged to have had the opportunity to participate PEAK's "Adult Jam" program which brings me together with other amateur musicians to "jam" in a band setting, work on a set-list, and learn performance skills and dynamics in a safe environment with professional facilitation by the PEAK instructors. Thank you and rock on PEAK Music!!!”

“The crew at Peak Music are amazing! Our daughter has found her voice and a love of performing. She takes private lessons with Isaac and we highly recommend him. Isaac makes learning fun and she wants to take daily lessons with him! We can’t wait to see her growth. We are very lucky, and thankful, to have Peak in town.”

“As a long time Lamoille county resident I have always found the lack of local musical instruction disturbing. So, when I saw that Stowe was to have a new music school in town, I wasted no time in signing up myself and my son for drum lessons. The experience has been great! Pete & Brandon have assembled a great team in a clean, professional studio. Whether you look to improve your own skills or pass along the gift of music to your child, reach out to Peak Music. I am so glad I did!”

“I can't recommend Peak Music enough! My boys (ages 10 and 12) love going to piano and bass lessons each week, and are enthusiastic about practicing at home. The emphasis is much less on route memorization and my kids have both loved learning how to improvise.... it's really a true love of music-making that shines through here! Better yet, they continue giving lessons throughout the summer. We are so lucky to have them in our community!”

We have three boys ages 12, 10, and 7, and all are enrolled at Peak Music. Taylor and Clay are learning piano and Miles is on the electric guitar. This is our boys’ first time taking private music lessons, and it has been such a positive experience for all! In fact, they’ve loved it so much they even convinced me (at age 40) to start piano lessons as well! We enrolled the boys just as Peak Music was getting up and running. Brandon and Pete made us feel incredibly welcomed, and worked with us to find times for lessons that fit our schedule perfectly. We have so enjoyed being present from the beginning, and being able to watch their business take shape, expand, and succeed! A space like Peak Music has been needed in Stowe for years, and I believe it’s filling a vital gap for many families. While we deeply appreciate the band and chorus options our boys can take part of at school, finding one on one instructors for specific instruments/vocals had been a challenge for us. We would sometimes hear of one or two names of instructors offering private lessons in town, but they were usually at capacity and not able to take on new students. Our only other option then was to drive quite a distance just to have a half hour lesson-something we weren’t willing to do while trying to keep our other priorities in tact as a family of five! Having a hub 10 minutes from home that offers a vast variety of lessons, instructors, and instruments to suit each of our needs has been the sigh of relief our family was waiting for. Our middle schooler doesn’t particularly care for sports. Instead, he loves theater, books, and music. We are thankful for any space that presents opportunities for him to explore these more innate interests. Finding programs that affirm creativity to be just as exciting and valuable as athletics is rare. We are grateful to Peak Music for nudging creativity to take the spotlight in our community, and for bringing the magic of music into our home!
